Karina Melgar - Founder

Karina Melgar has over a decade of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Quality services are important for her and ensures that she stays up to date with evidenced based practices for her clients.

Karina volunteered abroad and worked collaboratively with a clinical team to train staff at their center. Here, she learned about community outreach, educating the community about disabilities, and empowering families to their child’s best advocate.

Karina is actively involved in her community and is always looking for new opportunities for partnerships and collaborations.

Nick Hudson - LEAPS Instructor

Nick Hudson is a music educator and singer/songwriter currently residing in Fairbanks, Alaska. He is originally from Indiana and from 2013-2017 spent 4 years traveling and performing/teaching music all around the world after attending a performing arts college in Southern California.

Nick specializes in drums, guitar, and ukulele. He currently works in special education as a paraprofessional and is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Disability Studies

Oscar Lopez - LEAPS Instructor

Oscar Lopez is a graduate of Le Cordón Bleu California Culinary Academy. He has experience with Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, Spanish, and Californian cuisine. His passion for cooking has grown throughout the years and has expanded through his work and presentation of his food. The most important ingredient he use in every meal he cooks is Love.

Oscar joined LEAPS Services because he knows that individuals with disabilities are some of the best people to work with because your work becomes more meaningful and you are fulfilling a purpose to help those that have a deeper need in life.

After working with LEAPS Services, he has found his work to be more meaningful and fun, and it has inspired him to be a better teacher and to step out of his comfort zone.
