This includes recognizing the stages of an escalating crisis and learning evidence-based techniques to appropriately de-escalate.

Picture Exchange Communication System

The PECS teaching protocol is based on B.F. Skinner’s book, Verbal Behavior, and broad spectrum applied behavior analysis. Specific prompting and reinforcement strategies that will lead to independent communication are used throughout the protocol. The protocol also includes systematic error correction procedures to promote learning if an error occurs. Verbal prompts are not used, thus building immediate initiation and avoiding prompt dependency.

Social Stories

Social Stories are a social learning tool that supports the safe and meaningful exchange of information between parents, professionals, and people with autism of all ages. The people who develop Social Stories are referred to as Authors, and they work on behalf of a child, adolescent, or adult with autism, the Audience.

Pivotal Response Treatment

PRT® targets pivotal areas of a child's development, such as motivation, responsivity to multiple cues, self-management, and social initiations. These skills are pivotal because they are the foundational behaviors upon which learners with ASD can make widespread and generalized improvements in many other areas. By targeting these critical behaviors, PRT® results in widespread, collateral improvements in communication, social, and behavioral domains. 

Anat Baniel Method

Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® wakes up the brain to create new connections and new patterns that dramatically improve physical, cognitive, and emotional performance. The gentle approach focuses on the child’s abilities, not her or his limitations. NeuroMovement® and the 9 Essentials utilize brain plasticity science and positive brain change to create new connections in the child’s brain. This often leads to spontaneous, extraordinary breakthroughs in movement, thinking, self-regulation, and connection with others.

The transformative learning program focuses on a life of service, innovation, and self-expression. Leadership Academy is rooted in a model of transformational learning, which leaves a keen awareness of the basic structures in which people think, behave, and live. The focal point is to discover the natural capacity for leadership and activate a new level of greatness for the individual’s life and the world around them.
